The children’s park with setting up artificial animals and fishes attracts to all walks of lives who are rushing towards the children’s park to Kurigram’s Ghogadaha union every day with their children for enjoy.
The park is located in a rural area beside Jatrapur-Ghogadaha road near Ghogadaha union council office and in front of the union health and family welfare center under Kurigram Sadar upazila. The place is charming and well communicated.
The philanthropist, nature and children lover and former chairman of Ghogadaha union parishad Shah Alam Miah who set up the park on 45 decimal of land at a cost of Tk. 32 lakh in the fiscal 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. He received only nine lakh taka from the Local Government Support Project (LGSP) while the rest amount was expended by his own fund. He said “there was a ditch near the health center and I made an arrangement to fill the ditch and set up these sculptures”.
Later when the park opened, a good number of people with their children are being gathered there from distance places every day. While visitors can enjoy here, they can also acquire knowledge about flowers, birds, animals, scientific inventions and many more. The children accompanying the mothers, started playing happily in the health center premises when their mother completed their visit. An attractive decorated gate with a symbol of boat on top of the gate attract to all. There is also a concrete shed for visitors to sit down and cool themselves as well as taking a rest.
This park is special for kids, who can enjoy observing various sculptures suitable for their age and size. Shishu Park is an excellent choice for visitors who want to have a fun and safe time with their kids. The Artificial Amusement Park is an excellent choice for children who want to experience a dreamy and scenic environment.
While visiting the park, local Shahjahan Ali, 40, a businessman told this correspondent that a good number of visitors including students come here for enjoy every day and in the especial days like Eid-ul-Fitre, Eid-ul-Azha, and the national victory, independence day, New Year, and Valentine’s Day where several hundreds of visitors of all ages with their vehicles gather here. It is an excellent choice for visitors who want to enjoy a variety of entertainment options in one place in the rural areas. At that time many makeshift vendors sale various toys as well as food items setting up shops there.
Ariful Islam, 16, of Palasbari (Kabirajpara) village under Kurigram municipality said, “I have come here in first time and I like the children’s park very much as there are many sculptures including elephant, tiger, crocodile, deer, dinosaur, zebra, pigeon, giraffe, lion, hippopotamus, king-stork with fish, snake, stork, peacock, water-lily, rhinoceros and many other birds here. There is also a small bridge over a floating canal where the children cross the bridge on foot. He further said the children’s park become a recreational spot for people of all ages.
Founder of the Children Park Shah Alam Miah told that I tried to manage a big amount of money to implement as an eye catching park but failed. Finding no alternative way I implemented the project with my own cost for enjoyment of the children. A total of 30 items set up here and some items and Rides have not been implemented here till now. But I am trying to set up those in future. Several administrative officers also visited here and praised a lot. If the government extends helping hand, then the place will make an attractive and picnic spot, he added.
